Project Background
As a former car showroom, the 1500m2 Morris Homes head offices in Wilmslow, Cheshire, feature stunning, double-height windows. Despite providing fantastic light into the offices, this was creating problems for efficient heating and cooling, given their outdated air conditioning system.
Their existing system had high running costs and was undersized, meaning that it wasn’t able provide sufficient temperature control in the different areas of the building, or adequately respond to temperature fluctuations externally.
The clients were looking for an energy-efficient solution that fit within their budget and that wouldn’t disrupt their business operations.
Installation
The project first required the recovery of refrigerant from the redundant air conditioning systems, their removal, and safe disposal. We then installed four new Mitsubishi Electric Heat Recovery VRF systems, to include new pipes, cables, and electrical supplies. We also installed new Mitsubishi Electric Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems.
The project was carefully phased, allowing the clients to prepare for the works and to minimise the impact on their daily operations. During the works, all waste was removed form site and our engineers cleared up at the end of each day. Once each phase was completed, we commissioned the systems and handed them over to the client.
